An afternoon visit to Athens Historic Centre, the New Acropolis Museum and the Ancient Agors. Starting out at the magnificent and very impressive New Acropolis Museum you can admire the wonders of the classical era and the statues and incredible art that has at last found a home. From there the tour heads to Plaka (the neighbourhood of the gods) and the old city of Athens. Walking on its paved, narrow streets you feel like you’re travelling back in time as you pass by the Lysicrates Monument, the Church of St. Nikolaos Rangavas (11 th Century) and the Roman market before reaching the Greek Agora. The Agora extends over the northwest slopes at the Acropolis and, with the imposing temple of Hephaistos (5th Century BC) was the political, cultural and athletic centre of Ancient Athens.
